Is your child a budding pop star? Does he or she have what it takes to be an Irish music star? Sham-ROCK Stars, the popular singing contest will be held again during Irish Fest.
The event is a singing contest for kids 18 and under. Contestants perform a traditional or modern Irish song for a group of judges, comprised of musicians and IAHC fest volunteers. THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO AMATEUR CONTESTANTS ONLY. Parental consent is required for participants under age 17.
The contest consists of two divisions:
SHAMROCKS-Teens between 13 and 17 years old
CLOVERS-Children 12 and under
Preliminary auditions begin on Saturday, July 9 and will be judged by a panel of judges. On Sunday, July 10, a sing-off between the finalists from each division will take place. Further judging will be based on scores form a panel of judges and audience response and the winner will be announced. Winners will be announced during a special Grand Finale performance. Trophies and certificates will be awarded for the top singers.
The ShamRock Stars Singing Contest is Saturday, July 9 at 5:30 pm and the finals are on Sunday, July 10 at 5:30 pm, in the Auditorium.
