A mother’s courage. A boy’s impossible journey. A true story that will make you ask: Do I believe in miracles?
As a child in County Armagh, Jimmy Mallon faced a devastating diagnosis and a marked line for amputation. His mother said no. From Belfast’s early cobalt treatments to a lone pilgrimage with 80 Irish travelers to Lourdes, France, Jimmy’s path became a testament to faith, grit, and a mother’s unshakable love.
Chicago actor Jonathan “Rocky” Hagloch brings Mallon’s remarkable life to the stage in A Bump on the Leg, a moving one-man play by Leigh Johnson. With spare storytelling and powerful performance, Hagloch guides audiences from hospital wards to holy waters—and into the heart of a family that refused to give up.
Post-Show Talkback & Book Signing:
Jim Mallon will join us after the performance for a Q&A and will sign copies of his autobiography, Frightened Pilgrim: From Ireland to America with a Miracle In-Between.
