On Sunday, October 9, enjoy an afternoon of Irish culture in the Library’s Lecture and Performance Room.

The afternoon starts with the Great Irish Books Club Discussion at 1pm, where the group discusses Spill Simmer Falter Wither by Sara Baume. At 3pm, break for tea, and at 3:30pm sit back and listen to a harp concert featuring Aislinn Gagliardi.

Aislinn Gagliardi is a Chicago based Irish harper, composer, teacher and recording artist. Drawing from her background in Irish dance and influenced by a diverse musical range from classical to Cape Breton, her distinct style shines through her music in an open and honest way. Known for her syncopated and melodic accompaniment, her compositions and arrangements offer a fresh perspective to the Irish music tradition.

Gagliardi performs frequently at the Milwaukee Irish Fest and is a regular at traditional Irish music sessions in the Chicago area. She is on faculty at the Milwaukee Irish Fest School of Music, teaches workshops at the Old Town School of Folk Music and has taught at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School and the Madison Folk Harp Society. Suggested donation is $10.
