The 11th annual iBAM! Irish Books, Arts and Music celebration returns to the Irish American Heritage Center this fall on October 18 and 19. The weekend kicks off with the iBAM! Gala Awards Dinner on Friday, October 18. On Friday, October 18, the weekend kicks off with the iBAM! Gala Awards Dinner and Cocktail Party at 7pm that celebrates the outstanding contributions of the Irish in the categories listed below.

The 2019 awardees are:

Music: Ward Irish Music Archives
Literature: Eoin Colfer
Person of the Year: Stephen Travers
Media/Journalism: Maureen Dowd
Visual Arts: Denis Brown
Performing Arts: Michael Patrick Thornton
Volunteer of the Year: Michael Neary

On Saturday, October 19, iBAM! is also part of Open House Chicago at the IAHC.

From 10am to 7pm, iBAM! features authors signing and reading from their books, theatre and dance performances, film screenings, storytelling and children’s activities; all under one roof!

Admission to iBAM! is free and is a part of Open House Chicago at the IAHC. During Open House Chicago, guided tours take you through our building to see what goes on at one of largest Irish cultural centers in the US. Both programs are filled with exhibits, theatre, dance, music, lectures, films and food and drink. iBAM! and Open House Chicago are free.
