Manus McGuire and Dave Curley
April 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Fifth Province welcomes Manus McGuire, joined by Dave Curley for a night of traditional Irish music.
Manus McGuire comes from a strong musical family and hails from Sligo, the area with a fiddle tradition having exported the likes of Michael Coleman and James Morrison to the United States.
McGuire won various awards for fiddle music at national level before foraging a burgeoning international career performing with the groups, Buttons and Bows, Moving Cloud and the Brock McGuire Band, each of which he co-founded. Twelve CD recordings followed, gaining various “instrumental band of the year” awards and at a personal level, McGuire was awarded “male traditional musician of the year” by Irish American News.
McGuire is joined by Dave Curley. Curley, multi-instrumentalist, singer and dancer from Corofin, County Galway, has been making big waves in the Irish music scene in Ireland, Europe and the U.S. in the last number of years. He has been a member of award-winning bands Slide and RUNA and also performs with Moya Brennan.
Manus McGuire and Dave Curley is Thursday, April 25 at 7pm in the Fifth Province Pub and is free.
