DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Irish American Heritage Center as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the publication of Ulysses\, and for our 21st annual Bloomsday event! Rattlin’ of the Joists’\, directed by Josephine Craven\, has been honoring Bloomsday for over two decades with readings\, music and song.\nBloomsday is observed throughout the world on June 16th as a commemoration and celebration of the life of Irish writer James Joyce\, during which the events in his novel are relived. The date was chosen by Joyce as it was the date of his first outing with the great love of his life\, Nora Barnacle. Fraught with controversy\, most countries denounced Ulysses as amoral and blasphemous – and what could be wrong with that?\nIt’s an odyssey through our favorite parts of Joyce’s life and works\, featuring Rattlin’ of the Joists’ well-known actors\, singers and musicians from the City of Chicago.\nThursday\, June 16th at 7:00pm in the Fifth Province Hall of the Irish American Heritage Center.\nTickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Purchase here\, or by calling 773-282-7035\, ext 10. URL:https://irish-american.org/event/bloomsday-100th-anniversary-rattlin-of-the-joists/ END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
