We are thrilled to welcome Tommy Prine with Rui Gabriel for a FREE SHOW in the Fifth Province Pub!

Tommy Prine’s debut album, This Far South, is a long-awaited introduction and a testimony to Prine’s 20s and the loss, love, and growth that have defined them. Co-produced by a close friend and kindred musical spirit, Ruston Kelly, and beloved Nashville engineer and producer Gena Johnson, the album is rich and dynamic, from cathartic jams to nostalgic storytelling.

The son of late songwriting legend John Prine, Tommy Prine grew up in Nashville surrounded by music, art, and writing. As a child, he thought all parents were musicians because, to his father, “going to work” meant performing shows for adoring fans and writing songs. Tommy learned to play guitar by watching his father play, copying how his fingers moved, and inadvertently developing his own style. Summers in Ireland lent their own inspiration, as did 10 straight years camping at Bonnaroo.

In 2023, Amazon Music named him one of their Breakthrough Artists to Watch, and in December, he made his Grand Ole Opry debut in December.

Born in Venezuela and raised in Nicaragua, the now-Indiana-based songwriter spent his 20s in New Orleans and played in beloved bands like Lawn, where he’s a co-songwriter and co-lead singer with Mac Folger. Gabriel’s solo debut uses a lighter palette combining ethereal pop with ‘80s synth textures and slacker-rock charm. This is a testament to growing up and Gabriel’s disarming lyrical sensibility.
