It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of our 2020 Irish Festival at the Irish American Heritage Center in July.
Though planning has been long underway, the current COVID-19 pandemic has put us into this very difficult situation. With the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois still in the middle of this crisis, we just do not know for sure when we can safely open our doors to all of you again.
For 35 years, Irish Fest has represented some of the best that the Irish American Heritage Center has had to offer with the best in Irish music, culture, food, drink and most of all, family fun for all. For most of these years, it has also been one of our largest fundraisers.
This decision has not been made lightly but with the health and safety or our festival attendees, our volunteers, artists, vendors being of the utmost importance, we feel we have no choice but to cancel until we can all meet again in better conditions for all.
With all this said, we DO look forward to opening our doors again very soon. Whether a concert, a session, a play, a staged reading or just to enjoy a pint with friends, we have no intention of stopping what we do best, providing the best in Irish culture and entertainment for all of you.
Thank you for all of your support over the years and especially to those of you who have supported us during these difficult times. If you would like to help, we could use it. Please visit to see some of the things the Center is doing to continue our mission, and to support us by donating, so that we can be ready and able to bring you the culture and music that we’ve all grown accustomed to when we are open again soon. Even better, join us and become a member and keep abreast of all that we are doing during the shutdown and after.
Please stay safe, stay home and be healthy until we meet again.
All the Best,
President, Irish American Heritage Center
Irish Fest Chicago, Co-Chair
Executive Director, Irish American Heritage Center
